Tareekh e Hindustan is one of the most famous historical books written by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. He cites various events, rulers of different countries, scholars etc. in his book. This book has been translated into various languages like French, Spanish, Italian and Turkish among many other languages. It has also been translated into Urdu language which is one of the most popular language in Pakistan. The book has been published thrice in its original English Version, the second edition is translated into Urdu and the third is translated into Spanish. The French translation is known as "Histoire de l'Inde de M. Thiers". Translation of this book into various languages has been done by different people. However, none of them has ever attempted to write about this book in detail because it requires a lot of research work to write about this book rather than just writing about the events mentioned in the book without any research on paper whichever language you are writing it in. So this article is an attempt to write about this book in detail and provide information about the events mentioned in the book. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was born on January 17, 1817 in Thatta near Sindh. He was a famous scholar, thinker and writer. His family belonged to Pashtoon tribe and they were originally from Bakhshabad, Afghanistan. He also had a knowledge about Kashmiri Language which he learnt from his Kashmiri friend and author Mr. Mohar Ali Bakhashwala (Mohar-e-Ali). Sir Syed Ahmed Khan played a key role in creating Pakistan Movement in the year 1919. He was chosen as Quaid-e-Azam of Pakistan. He also wrote many books on different topics. One of the most famous books which he wrote is tareekh e hindustan which is still being read by all age groups in Pakistan even today after more than 100 years. The book is divided into 3 parts. The first part has been written by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan himself, second part has been translated by Dr. Maulvi Muhsin Ahmed and the third part has been translated by Dr. Muhammad Zahooruddin Pirzada, who was a prominent historian of his time. The first part of this book starts with the arrival of Aryans in India. It is divided into chapters which are as follows:After writing about the Aryan period, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan writes about the period after Aryan domination in India under chapter 1. This chapter covers events from 500 BC to 600 AD. He mentions the geographical divisions of the subcontinent during this time and also writes about their rulers who included Gurjara Pratiharas, Gurjara-Pratihara, Rashtrakuta Dynasty etc. He writes about invading tribes like Parthians, Kushans etc., their capitals and last rulers. cfa1e77820
